The Edinburgh Manor in Scotch Grove, Iowa was built in 1911, but before that stood the Jones County Poor Farm from 1850-1910.  During that time an approximate total of over 80 people died during those years of the Jones County Poor Farm.  A Poor Farm was where people were housed who were unable to support or care for themselves.  These people ranged from the elderly, disabled, to mentally ill or mentally challenged.  Most of these farms operated in the same context as most farms.  The production of crops and livestock were used for resident consumption.  The farms were worked by the residents, providing their health was suitable for the work.  These Poor Farms existed because Social Security Programs did not exist during those years prior to 1935.  After the Social Security Act of 1935 was enacted these farms decreased in use, by 1950 most Poor Farms disappeared.  Edinburgh Manor was built in 1911 as stated above; it housed people of all ages with chronic mental illnesses. It was described as a residential-care facility, county home.  Edinburgh Manor completely ceased operation in 2010.

There was a heavy blanket of fog on the night of the investigation of Edinburgh Manor . There was little to no wind.  On this night of October 23rd, 2014 the moon was to be in a partial eclipse phase approximately starting at 4:30pm CDT and reaching maximum eclipse by approximately 5:41 pm CDT.  Whether either of these instances of the fog, or moon, impacted the investigation is unknown. The investigation of Edinburgh Manor was however, on this night, well worth the trip taken, and the 9 hours put into the investigation itself that night.  We had a variety of experiences which ranged from hearing movement, and possible voices, where no investigators were physically present.

At the time this was caught when we were all at the base room with the door closed.  This is one of those evp voices that caught me off guard when reviewing. You will hear a voice saying "Here ya go." Then a grouchy, rough voice of a male that appears to say "Get outta here" and then something else I can't quite make out.  Like all of our audio, this time stamp was checked on our carry audio for noise contamination. This was not noise contamination from our base room.

Rose and Amy are out doing a round in the Manor while Dave and Dean are at base monitoring. Rose and Amy are joking around back and forth. Amy laughs then there is another female in the background... that isn't Rose, laughs with Amy. This female laugh was heard again later in the evening by Dave and Dean.

We are all at base getting ready to eat a little something before we proceed with the investigation.  A female voice was caught on one of the stationary audio recorders appearing to say "Help."

Rose and Dean were the only ones in the building while Dave and Amy went on a food run.  They were placing audio on the 2nd floor.  Rose's earpiece's battery died as they were walking down the hall.  While she is talking, Dean hears a male voice in the other direction.  When Dean hears it, he turns towards the direction he heard it come from.  Rose did not hear it.  The voice appears to say "I did it."

Dean and Rose talking back and forth about equipment issues. A voice comes across stating "No one likes you."
